Solite Batteries

Battery Solite

Solite batteries are popular all over the world due to their wide product range and affordable prices. The products have excellent quality and good performance. The production uses the most modern technologies and advanced materials.

About Solite

Solite batteries are created by Hyundai Sungwoo Automotive Korea co ltd in South Korea. This company is known as a major manufacturer of spare parts for vehicles. Created in 1979. In 1992, its own research center was opened. Since that time, battery production has reached a whole new level.

Hyundai Plant

Production is carried out according to the most modern technologies and under continuous quality control. The company is developing, constantly improving its products and is looking for new solutions that will make Solite batteries even better.

Where are Solite batteries used?

Representatives of Hyundai Sungwoo Automotive Korea and distributors are spread all over the world, they are in the countries of Europe, Asia and America. Batteries of this production are delivered to conveyors of many Asian auto manufacturers. Among them are Honda, Hundai, Kia, Nissan, Toyota, as well as cooperation with General Motors.

This manufacturer has batteries for both cars and trucks. Due to the variety of technical characteristics, you can choose the right option for any vehicle.

Car brands

Applied technologies and their features

In the manufacture of batteries of this brand, only modern, but at the same time tested technologies are used:

  • the use of high-quality materials - lead alloys with the addition of calcium, low-resistance separators, superpolymers;
  • the use of lead-calcium lead down conductors with the addition of alloying components, which ensures high discharge resistance and reduced water consumption;
  • innovative terminals and a special installation method for protection against oxidation;
  • a special arrangement of down conductors, due to which protection against vibrations and an increase in battery life are provided;
  • an indicator on the battery cover showing the state of the battery;
  • the use of a convenient recessed handle that makes moving the battery simple and convenient;
  • composition and design, ensuring normal battery performance over a wide range of ambient temperatures;
  • high starting current.

Important! Solite batteries are completely maintenance free. There is no question of removing the cover and adding water. The lack of maintenance is achieved through the use of calcium alloy technology.

Solite Battery Maintenance

Previously, Solite batteries were made of a transparent polymer material, so that the owner could conveniently monitor the level of electrolyte. Modern batteries are made opaque and completely maintenance free. This was achieved by the use of calcium-containing alloys - they minimize fluid flow, so adding water is unnecessary. To monitor the state of the battery and the degree of its charge allows a special indicator on the cover.

It also contributes to the removal of gases through special valves and helps to avoid spillage, and leakage of electrolyte, however, it is impossible to open the cover and there is no need for this.

All that remains for the battery owner is to put the purchased battery in its place, carefully monitor it, recharge it periodically, and after the battery has reached the end of its life (and it can last seven years under favorable conditions), replace it with a new one. The product warranty is 24 months.

How to charge a Solite battery

The need to charge a Solite battery is extremely rare. For example, if the car has stood idle for a long time or got into adverse climatic conditions. Also, periodically, it may be necessary to charge during normal operation.

All you need is a special adjustable charger. If you use the usual, you can ruin the battery. Indeed, in the case of excessive evaporation of the electrolyte, it will not work to top up.

On the charger, you need to set the charging current in the amount of one tenth of the capacity of the battery. For example, if the capacity is 65 Ah, then the charging current must be set to 6.5 A. This parameter cannot be exceeded, it can be reduced. There are also tips to charge another half as much current, but it will take more time, although it certainly will not ruin the battery.

You should also monitor the voltage - it should not exceed 14.4 V. It is also not recommended to throw the charging device unattended. Check its performance every two hours and adjust if necessary.

The time to full charge depends on the degree of discharge and averages 8-12 hours.

How to find out the release date and decrypt the code

Solite batteries use a five-digit marking that combines letters and numbers. First comes the letter (there may be two), it encrypts the name of the manufacturer. Next are two letters, between them is a number. They are used to encode the date and month of the release date. The first letter denotes dozens in the number (W - 0, X - 10, Y - 20, Z - 30), the number - units.

The letters of the month are encrypted as follows: I - January, J - February, K - March, L - April, M - May, N - June, O - July, P - August, Q - September, R - October, S - November, T - December.

The fifth digit is the year of manufacture. Sometimes there is a sixth marking shift.

Example: VAW8J6. In this case, two letters VA mean the name of the plant, W8 = 08 - date, J - month of February, 6 - 2016 of release. It turns out that this battery was released on February 8, 2016.

Reviews

Denis
Characteristics are excellent, compare favorably with European, and at an affordable price. But there is a minus: you need to handle as delicately as possible, afraid of a deep discharge, and you can discharge it easily.

Ilya
I like that you do not need to serve. Until the first need for charging, I traveled for two years without problems, after that I began to recharge in the winter.

Oleg
Good quality. Serves long enough without recharging. I want to say that there is better, of course, but for that kind of money - that’s it. The official site is in Korean, do not read anything, so you need to carefully choose so as not to get a fake.

    In 2010, I bought a car Hyundai Elantra. The car is 8 years old, the battery is native: Solite MF36-21. There were no questions to the battery. This winter I had to put it on charge for the first time. The batteries are good. I will change, take the same.

    Solite CMF 95D26R “street” operation in the Far East, I saw both -40 and -50, in the fifth winter it began to freeze, it turned out that at that moment it only had 20 Ah, the winter suffered and the summer left without problems. The other day I bought the same new one. The feature of these batteries is that despite the loss of capacity due to old age, the cold scroll current does not decrease below that indicated on the nameplate, and the new one gives out more than it is written on : idea:

    Og, og ... are made of dark plastic, so that the level is not visible, and for 2-3 years of “non-maintenance” in the bank closest to the engine, half evaporated nahEr and the songs began with drying and collapse of the active mass - hello “shorty” plates, run sucker for a new battery ... In this century of "planned failure for the movement of the economy" - something, well, there is no longer any trust in manufacturers ...

    I decided to find out how long the batteries “live”. Found the answer here in the article (see above) -
    7 years at medium intensity. And the question arose because on my Kia sportage car
    It costs a native Solite battery and the service life is already 9.5 years! Only last winter
    noticed that after frosts the battery waned. I had to put it on charge twice.
    This winter, at a low temperature, I will remove the battery. I want to install
    original record - 10 years! Now, just in case, I will buy a new one and it will be
    only sonlight.
